May 2008 Project Plant - China Red

After receiving the project plant, members brought these back to the May meeting to compare results. As can be seen from the photo, the results varied considerably - as did the excuses.

Results varied to a well growned and pinched plant to one that is bearly holding on.

All is not lost, with some good advice from the members, it is possible for all of these plants to turn into real beauties.

The challenge is on. Stay tuned.

June 2008 Results

At the June meeting, more of our members brought in their project plants and the results were just as interesting as the May results. A few were still struggling along, while others obviously paid more care and attention to their plants, pinching and potting on as required. The picture below says it all.

July 2008 Results

We are well on our way, however, not many brought their plants to the July Summer Social. The ones that did, showed vast improvement in their plants. The 'best plant' was by our newest member. Surprising how well you can do if you follow proper directions. The rest had some excuse. However the next month should see some rapid growth in our plants in response to the lovely summer weather we are having,

August 2008 Results

Finally we got some blooms on our project plant. The ones that were brought into the August meeting were all doing very well and it was a quite a show on the display table. And we are still getting a wide range of results! There was a lot of discussion on the plant's growth habit to date and more information on whatwe should be doing with out plants.
