Canadian Geranium & Pelargonium Society

Club Events

In addition to the monthly meetings, the Society holds at least three special events each year.

Annual Plant Sale and Show

In May, during the Mother's Day weekend, the club holds its annual plant sale giving the public an opportunity to purchase unusual and hard-to-find varieties of geraniums and pelargoniums, and to learn more about these colourful plants.

In the past few years, the club has included an arts and crafts component to its sale. Local artists and craftspeople have been invited to show off their wares.

Summer Social

Rather than hold a formal meeting in July, the club holds a summer social in the garden of one its members. It gives us an opportunity to see how our members make use of their geraniums in the garden setting. During this social, the final judging takes place of the club's annual project plant exercise.

Annual Christmas Party

The year is topped off with the club's annual Christmas Party. Prizes are given out for the year-long Parlour Show competition as well as a gift exchange, gift draws, and a special gift from Santa.

Other Events

From time to time, the Society has the opportunity of participating in other events in the Lower Mainland. Details will appear as they are finalized.

March 20-21, 2010

The Society will be participating in Gardenworks Mandeville's annual Garden Planning and Preparation Event. The Society will be present to provide information about geraniums and pelargoniums. It is an opportunity to introduce some of our favourite plants to the public.
